Welcome and thank you for considering Coast/ACM for your Highreliability magnetic component requirements. Since the early 1950´s Coast/ACM has been supplying high reliability magnetics for missile systems, radar systems, general avionics, communications and satellite systems. Our major customer base includes such companies and government organizations as Boeing, DSCC, EMS Technologies, Honeywell, JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory), Raytheon, and TRW. Virtually all major U.S. space , communication and defense systems include components supplied by Coast/ACM. Notable programs include Ranger, Pioneer, Mariner, Voyager, Magellan, Galileo, Space Shuttle, Skylab, Space Station, Nimbos, TDRSS, MILSTAR, TOW, M1, M60, Phoenix, KI-37, AMRAAM, F22, TAS, SBIR, Maverick, and Global Star. BRIEF HISTORY

What is now known as Coast/Advanced Chip Magnetics has its roots back to the early 1950’s. Its founder C. Harris Adams, a graduate of Cal Tech, formed a company to supply toroids for magnetic amplifier controls. Its early customers included Hughes Aircraft, Northrop and NASA. The company continued to grow as the application for toroidal coils and electronic wave filters increased. During the 1960’s and 70’s the company was well established as a key supplier for many military and space programs. In the 1980’s the company surged into the forefront as a magnetic components supplier. Because of this growth Ben Nguyen (current Chairman, CEO) was brought into the company to take over the responsibilities of chief engineer. Also Allen Adams (current President) left his position at Hughes Aircraft as a Design Engineer and joined his father C. Harris Adams. During this period the company continued its strong presence in all areas of custom space and military magnetics. In 1996 Allen and Ben introduced the chip inductor surface mount product line under the name of Advanced Chip Magnetics. In March of 1999 a major reorganization took place with a new company being formed called Coast/ACM. Coast/ACM is classified as a Small Disadvantaged Business by the SBA.
